Crossing the street is a game of chicken. The green light means you have the right of way, but any car turning left or right will deliberately intimidate you--moving within a mere 12-inches if necessary--to get you to move faster. Surprisingly, they do stop rather than kill you, but we didn't see anyone with a cane attempting to cross the street.
